These comments should be read remembering that ISO 9000 is aimed at a quality management system (QMS) for a complete organisation, whereas PRINCE2 is aimed at the management of one project. PRINCE2 has always stated that it may form part of an organisation’s QMS, rather than an organisation’s QMS form part of PRINCE2.

PRINCE2 is a generic method that separates the management of a project from the technical work of that project. Depending on the project environment, the technical needs may be totally different. The lack of coverage in PRINCE2 of these technical processes leads in some cases to nonconformity with ISO 9000, but in all major issues PRINCE2 either provides complete coverage or provides the necessary information
