Systems Engineering Goldmine is a resource containing a wealth of reference information relevant primarily to the engineering of systems.
This free resource is intended for use by clients, alumni and friends of Project Performance International (PPI) as well as clients, alumni and friends of subsidiary company Certification Training International (CTI). Other members of the engineering community may navigate around the site, but with limited search and no download capabilities.
Who can obtain login access the SE Goldmine?
-
Clients of Project Performance International and Certification Training International
If you are a client of PPI or subsidiary company CTI, you will have been provided with a user name and password. For a username and password reminder, or to request a new password, please contact us.
2. Limited Access Users
If you are not a client of PPI or CTI, limited access (which permits download access to many of these resources) may be available on an approved-registration basis. Conditions apply.
SE Goldmine Features
Project Performance International (PPI) welcomes you to the Systems Engineering Goldmine (SEG). The Goldmine is a searchable database of systems engineering-related documents, definitions and acronyms, and software tools. The specific searches available are:
Documents Search
You can flexibly search the names and identifiers over over 4.5GB of mainly systems engineering-related documents - for example handbooks, guides, papers and standards. SEG account holders can download these documents. The search capability also includes records of key systems engineering documents such as some standards and handbooks that cannot be provided for download, for reasons of IP status. Most documents are in English, but “search by language” is also provided.
Standards Search
You can flexibly search the names and identifiers of an extensive library of downloadable acquisition, project management and systems engineering standards. SEG account holders can download these documents. The search capability also includes records of key systems engineering standards and methods that cannot be provided for download, for reasons of IP status.
Definitions Search
SEG account holders can search a library of over 7,900 defined terms in the field of systems engineering and in related fields. Widely used terms will include definitions from a variety of sources that may be compared.
Keywords Search
SEG account holders can flexibly search keywords in metadata associated with over 4.5GB of mainly downloadable systems engineering-related documents - for example handbooks, guides, papers and standards.
Organizations Search
You can flexibly search for publishing or authoring organizations in metadata associated with over 4.5GB of mainly downloadable systems engineering-related documents - for example handbooks, guides, papers and standards.
Tools Search
SEG account holders can flexibly search the Systems Engineering Tools Database (SETDB) for software tools and cloud services supporting systems engineering. The SETDB is an extensive database developed and operated jointly by Project Performance International (PPI) and the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE). Search facilities are extensive, based on three taxonomies:
- A 80-entry hierarchical Tools Category taxonomy
- PPI’s Systems Engineering Process Element taxonomy, a foundation taxonomy that embraces the totality of systems engineering practice
- A taxonomy of processes and topics aligned to the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook 4th Edition.
