Extending SysML with AADL Concepts for Comprehensive System Architecture Modeling

Many control applications are systems-of-systems, integrating various mechan- ical, electronic, and software systems. The design of these systems, classified as Integrated Control Systems (ICSs), depends more and more on effective so- lutions that can address heterogeneity and interplay of physical and software elements. In particular, design languages used for specifying ICSs should incor- porate, in a consistent manner, essential concepts from multiple disciplines, such as mechanical, electronic, and software engineering.
