DETAILED REQUIREMENTS
5.1 General.
This section contains detailed format requirements for preparing a “standard” performance or detail specification as well as the associated documents, namely - supplement, amendment, notice, associated specification, and specification sheet. The detailed format requirements for preparing program-unique performance and detail specifications are contained in the appendix.
5.2 First page information.
Drafts of proposed specifications shall carry one of the notes below at the top of the first page, as applicable. This note shall be removed from the camera ready master after approval and prior to reproduction.

1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope.
This standard establishes the formats, contents, and procedures for the preparation of performance specifications, detail specifications, program-unique specifications, and associated documents, prepared either by Government activities or under contract (see 6.3 and 6.4). Associated documents for performance and detail specifications include associated specifications, specification sheets, supplements, revisions, amendments, and notices. Associated documents for program-unique specifications include revisions, drawings, software design descriptions, and software listings.
