This verification requirements specification describes the verification requirements for a Submarine Emergency Communications Buoy (ECB), also known as an Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB), to be acquired by the Royal Botswan Navy (RBN). The Buoy is specified in PPI- 005638-1 Submarine Emergency Communications Buoy System Requirements Specification (SyRS); this VRS links to those requirements.
Two variants of the Buoy are specified to, as follows:
a) Type A Buoy RF Buoy only; and
b) Type B Buoy RF Buoy with Strobe Light.
