Example Buoy SyRS

This specification describes the requirements for an Emergency Communications Buoy (ECB), also known as an Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB), to be acquired by the Royal Botswan Navy (RBN).
Two variants of the Buoy are specified, as follows:
a. Type A Buoy RF Buoy only; and
b. Type B Buoy RF Buoy with Strobe Light.

This verification requirements specification describes the verification requirements for a Submarine Emergency Communications Buoy (ECB), also known as an Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB), to be acquired by the Royal Botswan Navy (RBN). The Buoy is specified in PPI- 005638-1 Submarine Emergency Communications Buoy System Requirements Specification (SyRS); this VRS links to those requirements.
Two variants of the Buoy are specified to, as follows:
a) Type A Buoy RF Buoy only; and
b) Type B Buoy RF Buoy with Strobe Light.

Example Buoy CONUSE

The ECB is intended to be used primarily by the RBN Submarine Operations Command (SubOpsCom) and its Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC) for submarine search and rescue purposes, in conjunction with its Oberon and Collins Class submarines.
