Coordination can be defined as the management of dependencies among different tasks. When the tasks of multiple individuals need to integrate in a synchronized fashion, the corresponding inter-dependencies need to be well managed.

For example, each developer on a team may individually produce software code effectively, but this new software may not work properly with software parts produced by other developers. This is also called integration testing.

Although, software engineer have been using collaboration software engineering tools, but still coordination continues to be challenging in software development.
