There are no excuses for keeping STEP in the dark ages.

OMG and W3C languages are suitable for modelling industrial data solutions; we no longer can justify the use of EXPRESS based on a lack of mainstream languages capable of representing engineering semantics.

Express is rarely taught to modellers or software developers -instead OMG and W3C standards are widely used and understood.

The fact that STEP models specified in EXPRESS means that our good models will not be wisely used.
